Principal Clinical Psychologist
Raymond Inkpen is a clinical psychologist, who has 15+ years of experience working on a one on one basis with clients in a range of psychological settings. Prior to commencing his journey as a psychologist, Ray served in the Royal Australian Air Force. His service included overseas duty in a peacekeeping force and multiple overseas deployments. After his defence service, he worked in the mining industry for 10 years before retraining as a psychologist.
Since being registered as a psychologist Ray has worked with high-risk children in foster care, with Queensland Corrective Services, delivering offender programs and for Queensland Health assisting individuals with a serious mental illness to maintain their wellness in the community while assessing risk.
Ray treats clients who present with a range of disorders and has a special interest in disorders such as:
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Ray is skilled in the application of many therapeutic approaches, including EMDR therapy and Family Therapy.
Ray holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) and a Master of Clinical Psychology. He has completed postgraduate research in selective visual attention using electroencephalogram and worked with clients who have schizophrenia as part of a research team. Ray conducted research into modified music therapies for ASD (as part of his masters thesis). He is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the College of Clinical Psychologists.
